Before starting College, Morgan did not think she had the potential to be successful in anything other than sport or professional athletics. She was dreading the pending end of her swimming career upon graduation and doubtful of finding any fulfillment outside of training and competing.
Morgan felt like she was losing an important piece of herself.
Through sport, Morgan gained important skills like setting goals, learning from failure and being able to persevere through hardship, but not the ability to see that she could translate these skills into real life.
Being chosen to be team captain of the swim team her senior year and being place in a role she didn’t have the confidence to lead, is what changed her perception of what she was capable of doing.
Morgan learned that sharing her knowledge of health and fitness is something she loved to do. Being able to help those in her community through fitness has given her back a sense of purpose and validation.
